The last 24 hours gave us a shot at snow, took it away overnight, and brought it back this morning and early afternoon.
We’re expecting rain on Tuesday with highs in the low 40s. The temperatures will drop and the rain will change to snow, but we have to keep an eye on when it’ll happen.
As it looks now, it might be in time for the evening commute…but most likely just after dark. If it looks like it will happen early enough, an early dismissal could be in play for Tuesday. Right now I don’t think that will happen.
The National Weather Service has half of MoCo at 1-2 inches and the other half at 2-3 inches. They also give almost all of MoCo a 50-60% chance at getting at least two inches.
If the cold comes in faster, we can see higher totals. If it takes a little bit longer, we may not see much snow at all. With that said, whatever falls after the cold settles in will stick around with cold temps lasting through Thursday.
Our area rarely makes a winter forecast easy, and this is no different. I’ll be back tomorrow with an update and with the first calls for snow totals.
